Q5: When a client feels nervous handing over their brand, what do you want them to know?

Watching baseball, hanging out with my kitties, Cooper and Goji, or both at once.

Thrift shopping and getting bossed around by Luna and Lucy, my black dog and cat who are inseparable.

Q4. What does a Saturday look like for you?

A brand shouldn't blend into the scroll. We've built 40+ custom brands and websites for photographers and creative entrepreneurs who wanted something real — something that screams "this is really, truly, me."

Q3. What's something you believe about good design that you won't budge on?

To start, I never imagined this would be my career. After college, I spent time in cybersecurity sales before starting as a VA, moving into blogging and Pinterest management, and eventually falling into design. The first time I built a website, something clicked — I felt creative in a way I never had before.

A background in art and communication from Stanford, plus years in corporate roles — recruiting, sales, marketing. None of it felt like this. Design is the first work that's actually felt like the right fit for me!

Q2. What were you doing before this was your career?

 Years of hands-on experience, clear communication, honest feedback, and making sure you never feel left out of the process. That's the standard I hold myself to — thoughtful design, built with care, that actually fuels growth. I've personally built over 40+ custom brands and websites!

Q1: What do you bring to Nectar that's just you?

We've been best friends since we were kids, back when "career" meant astronaut or vet, not "runs a design studio together." We went to different colleges, took wildly different career paths, and somehow still ended up right back next to each other. (Our pets, meanwhile, run both households — we just pay the bills.)
Lauryn built Nectar from scratch, client by client. Jenna joined as a true partner, and these days every project gets both of us — equal parts design, voice, and a slightly concerning amount of inside jokes.
